Jessica Wilkie was born and raised in White Rock, BC and received her contemporary dance education through the Vancouver based training initiative Modus Operandi, under the direction of Tiffany Tregarthen and David Raymond. During her three years in the program, Jessica performed works by Wen Wei Wang, Justine Chambers, Amber Funk Barton, Farley Johansson/ Shannon Moreno and Tiffany Tregarthen, as well as collaborated with her peers on a full length creation and multiple dance-on-screen projects. In the midst of her training, Jessica had the pleasure of apprenticing with Justine Chambers, Amber Funk Barton’s: the response. and Out Innerspace Dance Theatre and in addition, collaborated and performed alongside Tiffany Tregarthen in a work-in-progress created for “Here to Go” (Deanna Peters). As an independent dance artist Jessica has shown dance-on-screen work through BC Buds and has been an interpreter in works by Karissa Barry, Out Innerspace Dance Theatre, Josh Martin and most recently 605 Collective.
