A special screening Company 605’s Future Futures will be shown during Tanzbiennale heidelberg.
A collaboration between Co-Choreographers Lisa Gelley and Josh Martin, and Filmmaker/Director Brian Johnson, “Future Futures” is an experimental dance film, a mini-series of shorts, that utilizes augmented bodies and movement to explore divergent imaginings of where we are headed, both in the very near and very distant future. Playing in the tone of minimalist science-fiction, the film exists in a peculiar world where conflicting possibilities / outcomes can overlap, and bizarre inhuman movement emerges out of everyday scenes. Multiple performers navigate simultaneous conjectures of what’s to come, envisioning the future bodies they will inhabit.
