Hayden first started dancing at his high school in Vancouver, BC with urban dance styles like Bboying, House, Popping and Hip Hop. After deciding to pursue a career in dance, he trained for two years with the Drive Scholarship Program where he studied Ballet, Jazz, Ballroom and Contact Improv, and received an introduction into contemporary dance. His passion now lies in mixing his knowledge and skills in urban dance with the techniques found in contemporary performance contexts. He is actively working to balance a career in both the Contemporary and Commercial dance, as well as developing his own style to make his own stamp in the dance world. In the commercial scene, Hayden has worked on many music videos for artists such as Ash Koley, and Nelly Furtado, on films (Jinxed and Step Up 5), as well as at live events for groups like Warner Brothers and the 2010 Winter Olympics. As a contemporary dancer he has worked with Kinesis Dance’s “Box4”, Martha Carter’s “Speaking in Ligeti”, Shay Kuebler’s “Karoshi” and new project underway “Glory”. Hayden continues to expand his training with companies such as RUBBERBANDance, 605 Collective, and EDAM Dance.
