Our annual contemporary dance workshop returns, this year, with a slightly different angle. We’re focusing less on intensity, and instead, are committed to making space for artists to gather, maintain and renew connections, and meet each other where we are at. We will practice going at our own pace, be curious while finding our own limits, and pay attention to what is emerging within and around us. We will continue to offer insight into Company 605’s choreographic process from recent projects and new creations, led by Artistic Co-directors Lisa Mariko Gelley and Josh Martin.
The weeklong workshop also includes offerings and movement research facilitated by additional guest artists from our community, whose work and values are aligned and in conversation with ours. We will offer relaxed class settings, workshops that allow for opening, questioning, and deepening our current practices with care, compassion, and collaboration.
26 spots open. We invite participants with existing movement and dance practices, or who are emerging or professional dance artists no younger than 17 years old.
We’re committed to making the Winter (less) Intensive as accessible as possible, and will do our best to accommodate the needs of participants. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Accessibility Support Contact – Matt Tomkinson [access@company605.ca]
